LinkedIn signs new office lease with plans to double workforce in Omaha

Today, we’re excited to announce that LinkedIn has signed a lease to relocate our Omaha office to Sterling Ridge at Pacific St. & S 132nd St. With construction beginning later this year, our current Omaha employees will begin moving to the new space in 2021.

Since first opening our doors in Omaha in 2007 with just 11 employees, our team has grown to over 450 employees, expanding by nearly 20% every year in recent years. While the office started with a focus on creating world-class member and customer support teams - most employees sat in our Global Customer Operations and Global Sales Operations teams - it has grown to employ top talent across marketing, engineering, legal, human resources and recruiting and will only continue to expand with this new office space.

In fact, the new 200,000 square foot campus will allow us to double our presence in the region in the coming years. Centrally located in the heart of Sterling Ridge, our goal is to create a best-in-class workplace for top professionals in the region. The new space will consist of two 5-story office buildings, each 100,000 sq. ft.

“We are thrilled that LinkedIn will be expanding its offices in Omaha,” said Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts. “In the past year, I had the chance to visit LinkedIn’s headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, and meet with executives to thank them for their commitment to our state and growing great opportunities for the next generation of Nebraskans. Time and again, we were told that Nebraska’s quality workforce was one of the major reasons LinkedIn enjoyed doing business in Omaha. The presence and expansion of LinkedIn in Omaha is an investment in our great people that brings tremendous career opportunities and strengthens our reputation as the Silicon Prairie.”

As we expand our presence in Omaha, we will also be growing our investment in the local community through our partnerships with programs like Hope Center for Kids, Partnership 4 Kids, and the Teammates Mentorship Program. “For over ten years, LinkedIn has been a strong community partner and economic driver for the City of Omaha. It is an exciting time to work and live in Omaha and that is due to companies like LinkedIn, who are committed to growing jobs and making investments here in Nebraska,” said Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert in response to the news. We look forward to new opportunities to support and take part in the Omaha community and help to close the opportunity gap in the region.

David G. Brown, President and CEO, Greater Omaha Chamber said, “With this expansion, LinkedIn continues a tradition of connecting talent with opportunity. We applaud their desire to create a space that reflects their values and complements their commitment to outstanding corporate culture and customer relations. LinkedIn’s growing impact in the region – and the world – is something worth celebrating.”

We’ll be sharing further developments on the new LinkedIn Omaha office space in the coming months. In the meantime, our Omaha teams are already growing and looking for passionate and motivated candidates to come onboard. Be sure to check out our open roles here.
