LinkedIn announces 4 million members in Australia

Sydney March 14, 2013 — LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network on the internet today announced that its membership base in Australia has surpassed four million, a 300% growth since 2010. Globally, the site attracts more than two new members every second, and grew to more than 200 million members worldwide in December.

With approximately 5 million professionals in Australia, LinkedIn is now home to over 80% of the country’s professional population. LinkedIn has also expanded its local presence with over 100 staff across three offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

As its membership in Australia reached a critical mass in terms of penetration, LinkedIn continues to see strong demand and response for its suite of services, including talent, marketing and subscription solutions. The company now has a wide cross-section of clients using the LinkedIn platform to improve their competitive advantage as they hire, market and sell.
