LinkedIn reaches milestone with one million Danish members

Copenhagen – November 30, 2012 – LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network with more than 187 million members globally, today announced it has signed up more than one million Danish professionals.

“One million Danish members is an important milestone for us. It shows that Danes have truly understood the career potential and the personal development possibilities that lie behind the LinkedIn,” says Lars Ingerslev, Commercial Manager, Nordics at LinkedIn.

LinkedIn has continuously invested in the Danish market with the launch of the Danish version of LinkedIn in November of this year. The Danish version enables members to continue using their network to promote their careers and businesses but also, it is now easier to communicate, cooperate and share information with professionals in their mother tongue.

“Danes are alongside some of the most avid users of social networks in the region with 94 percent* of the online population using social networks, making the country one of the most active and engaged in the region. When you look at just the professional population, currently 77 percent** are on LinkedIn – that’s more than three out four professionals. Every day our members add new information to their profiles, share important messages and knowledge, creates connections, build their network and get access to a world of potential connections, business partners, investors, employers and employees,” says Lars Ingerslev.

With new product innovations such as its iPad app Linked provides professionals with the opportunity to stay connected and updated with the new trends of the industry wherever they work. The app further supports LinkedIn’s mission of helping people realize their professional potential – whether they are looking for a job or just wants to get better at the job they have.
