LinkedIn now available in Danish

Denmark —September 24, 2012 — LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network with more than 175 million members worldwide, today launched a Danish language version. LinkedIn also announced today that there are now more than three million members using the professional networking site across the Nordic region, including 900,000 members in Denmark.

The availability of LinkedIn in Danish means members can continue to use their LinkedIn network to grow their careers and businesses, but now with more ease in communicating, collaborating and sharing information with professional contacts in their native language.

“Every day, our members are adding information to their profiles, sharing important views and insights, connecting to one another, building their networks and getting access to a world of potential contacts, business partners, investors, employers and employees,” said Lars Ingerslev, commercial manager, LinkedIn, Nordics.

“Furthermore, with the Danish export sector accounting for half (50 percent) of Denmark’s GDP¹, the addition of a Danish language version of LinkedIn will not only make it easier for Danish professionals and companies to connect with each other, but also to connect and collaborate with a global network of more than 175 million professionals,” Ingerslev added.

Anyone can now select the Danish language version from their LinkedIn homepage. With 94 percent of Danes active on social networks² and 72 percent of the working population already using LinkedIn, the addition of a Danish language version was a natural progression for the company.

The inclusion of Danish language follows the introduction of Polish, Norwegian, Czech, Dutch, Swedish, Russian, Romanian and Turkish versions this past year and reflects the continued investment that LinkedIn is making in the European market. In addition to its now nineteenth language, LinkedIn is available in: English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Czech and Dutch.

Based on the strength of its network and its ability to target specific audiences, LinkedIn has established a number of business lines. Hiring Solutions enable employers to find and recruit the best active and passive talent. LinkedIn also represents a valuable demographic for marketers with affluent and influential members.
