LinkedIn now available in Swedish

Mountain View, Calif. — November 9, 2011 — LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network with more than 135 million members worldwide, today launched a Swedish language version. From today, members can select the Swedish version of LinkedIn right from their homepage.

LinkedIn has a growing membership base in Sweden with more than 800,000 professionals already benefiting from the network. The addition of a local language version will allow members to communicate, collaborate and share information more easily with their trusted professional contacts in their native language.

Ariel Eckstein, Managing Director for LinkedIn in Europe, commented, “Sweden – in common with the Nordic region in general – already accounts for some of the most active and engaged LinkedIn members in Europe. The availability of LinkedIn in Swedish makes it easier than ever for Swedish professionals to tap into the world’s largest business network and get access to local and international knowledge and expertise. ”

Today’s announcement follows the opening of LinkedIn’s first Nordic office in Sweden in June of this year. Local companies, including Swedbank, are using LinkedIn’s Hiring Solutions to identify and recruit top talent in Europe and further afield, while organizations, including Baker & McKenzie Sweden, –are using LinkedIn to deliver targeted advertising campaigns to clients and prospects through the company’s Marketing Solutions.
