LinkedIn launches in Russian, Romanian and Turkish, continues to expand international footprint
Mountain View, Calif. — 22nd June 2011 — LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network with more than 100 million members worldwide, today announced that LinkedIn.com is now available in Russian, Romanian and Turkish. More than 1.4 million professionals across Russia, Romania and Turkey already have LinkedIn Profiles and there are more than 1,000 LinkedIn Groups related to each country. Large companies like MTC, Petrom and Turkcell already have LinkedIn Company Pages on the site.

Commenting on the announcement, Ariel Eckstein, Managing Director of LinkedIn Europe said, “More than 25 million European professionals are now establishing their professional identities, building their networks and gaining access to insights and opportunities on LinkedIn.
“Today’s launch of Russian, Romanian and Turkish versions of LinkedIn is a direct response to better support the growing number of professionals joining LinkedIn in those countries. We have a growing member base in the eastern part of Europe and LinkedIn has a massive opportunity for growth in the region. Local language availability often precipitates a whole new generation of LinkedIn users locally, enhancing the experience for the entire community,” says Mr Eckstein.”
Language localization has been key to LinkedIn’s international expansion. In addition to Russian, Romanian and Turkish, LinkedIn is also available in six other languages: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
