LinkedIn Names Netflix CMO Leslie Kilgore to its Board of Directors
Mountain View, Calif. – May 18, 2010 – LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network with more than 65 million members globally, today announced the appointment of Leslie Kilgore to the company’s board of directors. Kilgore is the chief marketing officer at Netflix, Inc. of Los Gatos, Calif. Since joining Netflix in 2000, Kilgore has helped the company grow its subscriber base from fewer than 100,000 to more than 13 million subscribers.
“Netflix is undoubtedly one of the world leaders when it comes to subscription services online,” said Jeff Weiner, chief executive officer, LinkedIn. “As LinkedIn continues to scale its subscription businesses, Leslie’s vast experience will be invaluable to our company.”
Since Kilgore joined Netflix, the company, has been ranked six consecutive times as the number one online retailer for customer satisfaction by independent researchers ForeSee Results. Prior to joining Netflix, Kilgore held various positions at Amazon.com, Procter & Gamble and Booz, Allen and Hamilton.
The appointment of Kilgore brings the total number of LinkedIn board members to six.Kilgore’s appointment comes on the heels of LinkedIn announcing A. George "Skip" Battle to its board in April. LinkedIn chose to expand its board as its membership continues to scale globally and as it prepares to nearly double the size of its staff in 2010.
