LinkedIn Names Anil Khatri Vice President of Engineering
Palo Alto, CA — July 2, 2007 — LinkedIn Corporation, the world's largest and most effective professional network, today announced the appointment of former Yahoo! executive Anil Khatri as Vice President of Engineering and the promotion of LinkedIn co-founder Jean-Luc Vaillant to Chief Technology Officer. These two executives will lead the outstanding engineering team that is building LinkedIn’s innovative professional network.
LinkedIn is rapidly hiring software engineers and expects to name a Vice President of Network Operations in the near future to further strengthen its world-class technology team. “As LinkedIn continues to build out its network capabilities and expand as a company, we are attracting the top engineering talent in Silicon Valley,” said Dan Nye, CEO, LinkedIn. “Our technology leadership team is focused on accelerating innovation and continuing to make our product even more useful and appealing for current and new users of LinkedIn.”

- Jean-Luc Vaillant, CTO, has more than 20 years of software engineering experience, working on projects ranging from mini systems in the early 1980s to distributed UNIX systems in the late 1990s. He has held senior management positions at a number of leading companies in Silicon Valley. Jean-Luc is one of the original five founders of LinkedIn.
- Anil Khatri, Vice President Engineering, has over 20 years of experience in developing software products and platforms for industry leaders such as Yahoo! Prior to LinkedIn, Anil served as Vice President of Engineering for Advertising Systems at Yahoo!, managing all the engineering teams that develop and operate Yahoo’s graphical advertising products. Anil’s team at Yahoo! developed the world’s largest real-time graphical advertising platform that delivers more than 10 billion ads every day and generates revenue of more than $1.5 Billion. Prior to Yahoo! Anil served in senior management positions at Tandem Computers and Zaplet. Anil also founded and served as president of PerformQuest, an enterprise software and services company.
